Hot Flash

A new season began, she had no clue
The tales of flashes were really true
Til one day consumed by heat
Sweat pops like in a hot seat
She waited for the air to break through.

Still not sure, it happened so fast
An explosion of heat, like from a blast
But shortly after, it was gone
And cold set in, what is wrong?
She asked when everything settled at last.

Once more the flush of heat made her heart thrash
It appeared she had taken a splash
Then in that very moment
With the evidence present
The verdict clear – Hot Flash!

A Teacher's Prayer

Lord, anoint my head
Anoint my hands and my heart
Guide this day ahead.

Lord, help me to love
Each child that will come my way
Gentle as a dove.

Lord, grant each child peace
A willing heart for learning
Knowledge to increase

Lord, bless each child’s home
Fill with love is my prayer
A sweet honeycomb.

And Lord, as we part
After a long day of work
Bond us by the heart.

Jesus Stayed in God's Will

Jesus stayed the course
He stayed in God’s will
Tried and convicted
He climbed Golgotha’s Hill.

He was nailed to the cross
In silence some did weep
He could’ve come down
But He had a promise to keep.

He could’ve hung on the cross in anger
But instead He had a forgiving heart
For those who cried, “Crucify Him!”
Love He did impart.

But on the cross He remained
From the sixth to the ninth hour still
Then He bowed His head and died
And scripture was fulfilled.

Jesus laid down His life for our sins
God’s purpose He did fill
He stayed on the cross
Jesus stayed in God’s will.
