The Dream of Dr. King© copyright 2009 Benita Lewis There once lived a man Dr. Martin Luther King This man, dared to dream For the plight of others, he stood the test Because of his dream, for their rights he pressed. Dr. King didn’t dream in black or white Instead he dreamed in col-or A rainbow of hope for the civil rights fight A dream for which many fought for. Dr. King didn’t live to see his dream come true But generations later the dream realized Would validate the dream of the dreamer Dr. King now eulogized. The Dream of Dr. King Visions of equality for little boys and girls Thank God for the dreamer Thank God for Dr. Martin Luther King. Written by: Benita Lewis |
